When I started blogging almost 3 years ago (wow) I had a vague idea of not only what I was doing, but what I wanted to achieve.
I was unsure if people would read what I had to say? would I fit in? would my photos be interesting enough ?
There were definitely a lot of uncertainties. Looking back, I am glad of those uncertainties, they have help me get to where I am today …
Blogging, is a great way to live out your dreams , connect and more importantly “be you” …
Here are my blogging tips, that I wished I would of known when I was starting out …
1. Why, What, When…..
Ask yourself why? You are blogging, write this down! Is it to learn something? Live out a career? Make money, connect with new people, share your talent? Your stories?
Try to narrow it down to one or two points. Reminding yourself why you started something, comes in useful when you loose sight of where you are going !!
What. What goals are you going to set for yourself ? What would you like to accomplish ? What defines you/your blog ? What are you going to blog about? What will be off limits?
It’s important that you try to answer as many of these questions as you can, as this will help you create a direction for your blog !
When. When will you blog ? Will you post a couple of times a week, every day? When will you find time to schedule blogging into your routine?
Setting yourself a blogging schedule, is a great way not to become to overwhelmed. Use a diary, online calendar, printouts there are a lot of free resources out there ….
Part 2. Will follow next week.
What do you wish you would of known before you started blogging?
Anything you would of changed …
